I find it much easier to develop additional wayfinding or navigation elements (breadcrumb, sitemap, etc) with Navigation Manager. You can develop this with nested lists, or with Nav Manager, but my development time is greatly reduced with Render Tags and Nav Manager.
I also find it useful for certain templating controls - conditional display of images - IE: show this header image for this entire section, show this title at the top of every page in this section - very easy.
