Sorry guys - I was (and still am) in the middle of a nightmarish
attempt to reinstall RedDot, so I was pretty distracted! But, anyway,
Gavin is correct - the solution to this specific sub-problem was to go
into C:\Windows\assembly (actually, C:\WINNT\assembly - obviously,
that will vary), right click each RedDot-related entry (I think they
all began "RedDot") and choose 'uninstall'.

Although further errors then presented themselves, they were no longer
related to these GAC items.
