Are you using version 7.5? I could not reproduce the issue in 9 or 10. Should others have similar problem and have access to the database, I believe the information regarding which table and column contains the lock value is available on the OpenText KC. A retro active reference plugin is available at http://www.solutionexchange.info/Retroactive-References-2.htm for your referencing needs. The plugin is an improved version of the old reference link reference page plugin, which tends to time out on content class with many pages and to put extra load on the CMS version.
