Hi All

I have a new project underway and was hoping to get your views on the best
way to approach the multi-language scenario I have.

The site itself is quite small (I estimate around 100 web-pages or so), but
it must be delivered in many languages to many countries. Some countries
will have the same languages (for example there will be several versions of
English like US, UK, AU and so on).
There are about 70 language/country combinations.
Not all products are available in all countries so some pages must not be
displayed in some languages which is why I cannot just publish the same
pages to separate targets (sounds easy enough - just don't translate the
pages I don#t want, right?).

*What I would like to know is - *what would be your approach to how to deal
with this and how to manage the content and in particular the translation
process. An important issue is translating and updating content.
For example, if there is an update that needs to happen on a page in
English and it then needs to follow through to all other languages (just a
simple text change). Is it possible to somehow make the change in one
language variant and then apply that same change to other variants without
having to go into each one and "translating" or updating manually.
Something along the lines of "adopt content from another language variant"
or just release. :) Perhaps you can suggest a workflow or some shortcuts?

My thinking so far - build a separate language variants for each language
and manage content this way. But, whats the best way to update content with
minimum effort for editors?

I may need to add some detail to this as it is more of a general question
instead of a specific technical one so please feel free to ask.

Thanks!

Kind Regards
Daniel
