Sure thing.  My visualization of what was being attempted is
likely different from what is really happening.  An ASCII art
diagram would be in order I think to avoid confusion.

I envisioned:

YOUR_LAN--------YOURFIREWALL--------YOURISP
                          |
                          +---------ANOTHERISP

In this case, you could do things different ways, however I would
think most dual homed systems would try to split bandwidth
between the two, or would try to minimize hopping, etc.. which
requires routing protocols..  Not that you HAVE to, but it makes
sense in such a scenario.  Without knowing the exact use of each
interface, it is impossible to guess it though.
