Does the 2.0.34 kernel have a problem with iBCS? I ask that because I
tried running a SCO Unix program that runs quite well under 2.0.33 with
iBCS under Red Hat 5.0, but when I tried to run it under Red Hat 5.1 with
2.0.34 it complained "Cannot Open Console Device" and died. Any ideas?
I tried re-compiling the iBCS module from Redhat 5.0 but that did not
help. The new module did not allow my SCO Unix program to work.
This bugs me :-(. Our software was written for SCO Unix, and the database
engine we use only comes in an iBCS2 version, not in a specific SCO or
Linux version. At the moment this is not a concern because we only ship RH
4.2 to our clients (with the 2.0.33 kernel), but in the future it
definitely will be a concern.
