Meanwhile in North Texas, USA,
Linux P5100 - Linksys PCI 10/100M card
to
W95 P200/MMX - Linksys Ether16 10M

25 foot thin coax cable with 50 ohm resistor at each end
(plugged in to the BNC-T at back of each card)
[resistors are ~US $1.50]

Run xdm at Linux and Exceed on W95 and wife/kids log in
and play all games with no speed probs.

I went with Linksys because they print Linux compatable
on the box! Good price also.
