What is the exact command you are using to rm it. If you use
rpm -e rpm_name.ver_number.i386.rpm it will return not installed.
if you do rpm -e rpm_name it will rm the package. ex: rpm -e mb
will work rpm -e mb-5.0-6 will not. You need the full name of the
rpm to install it though.
