Make sure you have installed all updates. At one point there was a
network problem that would cause extremely slow tar extractions. I
believe this was initscripts-3.32-1 that would fix it, but be sure to
install all the updates.
We want to be sure not to troubleshoot a problem that has already been
fixed..
