Max 4 primary partitions, or 3 primary and 1 extended. (Primaries are those you can boot from.) In the extended, maximum of 12 logical partitions. Partitions don't care whether they are system or data (other than the fact that you can only boot from primary partitions). -- Rodolfo J.
