hi there,

couple problems i am running into with this new install. first try
through the first boot after install it would keep hanging on loading
sendmail. i tried various things to stop it from loading but could not
get it done so i ended up doing a complete reinstall and told the
services section not to load sendmail this time. Now it's hanging on
smbd !! yes, i am going to want some of the services samba offers. How
do i get it out of the start up files for now though so i can boot?
what can i do that doesn't involve another reinstall. this isn't the
fastest system i am working with.

the other question is: I've got 3 com ports in there. I've set them up
like so:

com1 3f8 irq4
com2 2f8 irq3
com3 3e8 irq7

(irq5 is taken by the nic and i can't find the disk to change it)

when the system boots it says com 1 and 3 are both on 4... is there
something i can do to get around this? this system is supposed to run 2
modems simultaneosly.

i'm really in a tight spot here are under alot of time pressure.

thanks,

rob
