thornton.... hi. i took a look at the redhat kicstart docs... i can make sense of some of what's going on... shouldn't be too bad..although i hope there's nothing from a security aspect that can haunt me!!
but the issue i'm facing is the pxeboot, and the vmlinux/initrd.img files...what do i do with these...and where do they need to go..or what has to happen regarding these... a search of google didn't really turn up any info.... thanks bruce -----Original Message----- From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Behalf Of Thornton Prime Sent: Friday, July 25, 2003 9:49 PM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: remote upgrade from Redhat 8.0 --> 9.0 > OK.. The kickstart docs are part of the RHL Customization guide. http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/custom-guide/ As for getting the install images into grub/lilo, it is fairly straightforward. The images directory of any RH install has a subdirectory for pxeboot, which has the pre-extracted vmlinuz and initrd.img files. Put them into your bootloader config, add an append pointing to your kickstart configuration (described in the kickstart docs), and you are good to go. thornton -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list -- redhat-list mailing list unsubscribe mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] https://www.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/redhat-list
