Ok, looking at your original post, I'm a bit confused. You say that you
can 

telnet  linux1 imap 

from the command line on tax152, but cannot from netscape on the same
machine?

seems kind of wierd. You could try using IP addresses in the hosts.allow.

Anyone else have any idea on this? Seems DNS related to me.

from what you are saying, it appears the imap server is runnign fine. have
you tried using netscape from linux1 itself?
