Regarding Best and Tripplite -

Best:
Don't let their website prices fool you - you can get them a lot cheaper
(even from them). Their software is open source too, and the model I have
also has battery life calculation which is great.

Tripplite:
Their software requires a GUI to properly install. yuk. Hardware seems ok
so far, and *very* cheap for a simple 750va. I still need to hook it up to
something with X so I can see what they stick int he config files to get a
few things working the way I want (it was pretty trivial to get basic
monitoring workign without the GUI by poking around the config files, but 
no *features* :( )
