My method: use a DHCP server at both places, and setup your notebook to 
accept DHCP settings. Now, in your DHCP servers at both places, set up a 
reserved static address for your notebook. That way you get the benefit of 
the assigned nameservers, etc., and can deal with the changing external 
IP's while keeping your internal IP static and comfy.
