Once you do that regenerate sendmail.cf using m4 via, m4 /etc/mail/sendmail.mc > /etc/sendmail.cf Restart sendmail, and you should be OK and to your question, Yes, sendmail does not accept connections from the outside world on a default install of Redhat..
