i have just done a ppp setup in my office here.
this setup consists of a
1. PPP server (configured with proxyarp and dynamic ip allocation)
2. 1 PPP client (as of now)( configured with defaultroute and proxyarp)
The PPP device in tthe PPP server shares the IP address with
the ethernet device.
after specifying the IP masquerading rules i could get the PPP client
see the internet. it can telnet to machines beyond the ppp server etc.
but this doesn't happen other way round ie. when i try to ping the ppp
client from outside , it says "host not found".
and then i am also not able to figure out why the proxy arp entry shows
up as below when i issue the command
$ arp -v -n -a

U can see that arp entry for 163.122.6.254 shows wln0 as Iface whereas
routing table shows correctly. Why is this so ??
Does this have to do with the problem specified above ??
