Sometimes this easy way works. It worked for me with my Supra i28.8 pnp
modem.
Say your modem is on com4 under W95. Write down the irq, the com#, and
the i/o memory address.
Try this in Linux, as root.
setserial /dev/cua2 auto_irq autoconfig <ret>
#probes modem for settings
#and tries to set Linux system settings to what it finds.
#see man setserial
Then take a look at what this accomplished by:
setserial /dev/cua2 <ret>
#reports serial settings for /dev/cua2, same as COM 3.
If this returns the same values for irq and i/o memory address, called
"Port" by setserial, then there is a good chance that your Win 95 settings
have persisted. Try using these settings and see what happens.
It has always worked for me. If it fails for you, I guess you'll have to
try isapnp.
