Subject: The Rays 


In my humble opinion, the Rays signing of Pat Burrell has received far too 
little attention in these parts. For my money, the Rays remain the team to beat 
this season. Not only have they added a big bat (I had concerns that they might 
have signed Manny, but they've got players who most likely will have better 
seasons this year: Longoria, Upton, Pena (maybe.)

They've got the same studs in the rotation and they're tossing in Price who was 
dominant at the tail end of the playoffs.

I also think they still have a fairly deep farm system. McGee is injured, but 
they have some other parts.
