I suspect that is not true.  I suspect team average correlates to runs scored.  
It has to.

                I think it's just more evidence that batting average is a 
useless number.  It's like trying to measure weight with a ruler.  You can 
guess based on the result but you can be easily fooled.
                
                This Sox are doing OK with OPS.  Two Sox are in the top 10 in

me more than anything is that there are no Sox players in the top ten in
