What do you mean "starting" to make business decisions that way. That is the only way he has ever made decisions with this team. They are satisfied with a team that is a wildcard contender.

While he'd be worth an extra $2.5m a year in my mind (which would have allowed the Sox to outbid the Tigers) I'd support a little more strongly if the Tigers promised he'd catch all four years. I doubt they did, but who knows. Still, his skills at the plate definitely compensated for any deficiencies behind it.
