I guess you could make a box for them.  I would recommend looking at the
fixtures that Hamilton Lighting provides.  They look nice and work well
since fans are also built in.

I hung my light fixture with decorate chain that you can get at Home Depot.
 The benefit of the chain is you can raise and lower the lights as desired
by adjusting where the hooks attach to the chain.  

I would recommend placing the lights 10"-14" above the tank.  This will be
close enough to give plenty of light and also far enough away to keep water
from splashing on the light cover and also give you enough room to get your
hands in the tank for any maintenance.
