How do you keep the media (carbon etc) from flying out of the other side
when you turn the pump on?

To add carbon in my system. I just took short lenght of 3 inch
diameter PVC.
Got two endcaps and plugged up both ends. I just slide them on didnt
glue
them. Drilled a hole in each endcap. to slide a 1/2 piece of pvc
into each
endcap. Hooked up a powerhead to one side with some tubing. and just
hang it
in my sump. Might be cheaper to just get the reactor thing someone
else
mentioned. But just somthing i made up with some extra pvc i had
laying
around.
