I just got my PFO light fixture with 3 X 250 watt m/h's and 2 vho
actinics. I also use the Aquacontroller.
The m/h's are on tar ballasts and fire up ok but the vho's came with the
IceCap 430 ballast and there's
the problem. All kinds of problems ... the vho's fired up ok the first time
then after shutdown would not come on again.( the modification to the
AquaController Appliance Module was done when I had used PC's). I used an
extension cord and tried the other outlets in my house and they work.When I
use the outlet in the room with
the aquarium it wont work , just flickers real quick and nothing comes on.
My old PC's did this but was
corrected using the modification to the appliance module. The module was
tested and is ok. The IceCap will
only light up when using a different power outlet. I disconnected ALL other
equipment and tried the IceCap
all by itself and guess what? Thats right ...it wont go on! It will go on
with all other outlets around the house.
I rather use a tar ballast for the vho's. These are 2-72" 160 watt
bulbs.Can anyone suggest a fix or if no cure
with these electronic ballasts, suggest a good tar ballast. I already spent
money on the IceCap but will
switch to another ballast and save myself the headaches.
