All of my corralline algae on my LR dies off (turns white) in my system,
except on shaded areas of the tank, like the glass under my sea swirl. I
think, at least in my tank, that it is due to too much light for the
corraline. I have about 10.5 wpg, and it just seems to be too much for
corraline. My alk runs at about 4.2, pH at 8.3 and calcium at 420-450 so I
know it is not that....

Sounds like normal 'cycling' assuming your water chemistry and
lighting are
good to go. I don't usually do it, but some people will turn over
the LR
allowing shade on the areas whitening. HTH
