I dose my 70 gallon reef tank with kalkwasser and I still have to add
calcium but not as often. You have to watch that your ph doesn't rise to much
because kalkwasser has a high ph like 14.0 it must be added slowly but with
a 200 gallon you'll have more room to play with.Myself personally I would
never dose kalkwasser any faster then it will evaporate. It would cause to
much of a ph change. It might not be a big change but it doesn't take much to
put stress on delicate corals and inverts etc.I use esv bionic
alkalinity+calcium 2 part additive until I get desired alkilinity and KH and
if my calcium level is not high enough then I use liquid calcium
additive.Esv is a good company if they have kalkwasser.I use kent-marine
kalkwasser .Two little fishes is also a very good company so take your
pick.I use a float in my sump hooked up to a 10 gallon tank with kalkwasser
mix. When you mix the kalkwasser you have to let it settle and the undesolved
mix goes to the bottom and the top has a film.Your supposed to siphon the
kalkwasser out leaving the undesolved mix and the film.It gets to be a
pain.Your supposed to use the mix within a few days because it loses its
(strength).I can't think of the exact word but that is what comes to mind to
best descibe it.I stop once in awhile using kalkwasser because the ph gets
to High.I hope some of this helps a little.Ken. New member of eastern
