Hey Paul, Glad to see that I am not the only person from Ontario.

I also use Kalk to dose my tank but it is only 90 gal. I don't have corals at this point and I to would love to see more info on this subject. I look at the cost of buying a reactor and here it cost way to much to purchase. Is there anybody that has a good design on a DIY that can be built??

that is my question? IME kalk is a pain in the ass.

if you get a good cal reactor youll never need to add kalk or cal chloride again. it will pay for itself in less than a year. especially on a tank of your size. I built my own and have built the same one for others, if interested let me know. cal reactor is very efficient and very stable, I only add iodide to my tank every other day,, thats all, and maintain alk of 4 and cal around 420.

youll spend less time messing with additives and more time enjoying the tank

I planning on changing my method of adding calcium  to my tank

from calcium chloride to Kalkwasser. The tank in question is approx

200gal. Before I start this method I have a few questions.

1-- What brand of Kalkwasser would you recommend? Here in Ont Canada

     I have access to ESV companys brand and two little fishies brand.

 

2-- Are there any problems in the begining with changing methods?

 

     I have read on the internet of various methods of dosing Kalkwasser

     for instance, one person said in larger tanks 200gl and up, it is ok

     to add up to 5gl at one time with no restriction on the tube into the

     tank water.

  3--What do you recommend?
