IMO forget the UV, unless you are running a pond and not an aquarium. In
order for your refugium to thrive you need to ditch the UV. Also, forget
crushed coral, its sharp sides will injure any sand dwelling creatures that
are beneficial. Try fine aragonite or silica sands. About 4-6" should do
the trick.
