Title: RE: Play sand

Southdown, Pure Aragonite & Carib Seas Aragamax are exactly the same sand (so I was told), from the same source (Bimini). The difference is the way it is handled. I'm sure Southdown sand is pure most of the time, but it would be really easy to get a bag with a couple pounds of ammonium nitrate mixed in. That's why, when I told the people at Southdown I wanted sand for an aquarium they referred me to someone else. Seems they have had complaints in the past & don't want to bear the responsibility for another failed aquarium. A lot of people have been lucky but personally I'm not taking any chances.

Well, it would appear that the stuff is fine.  I have heard of alot of
people using it with no problems.  I am going with the other stuff just
because I can't locate the SouthDown sand.

aquarium pruposes.
