Andrew,

I must say, I have not seen a barrage of emotions on this list until now. As
a member of this list for about 3 years now, I have seen many people come
and go. If you choose to leave the list, that is up to you. But if you dont,
please consider using tact in your responses. The list is designed to
explore and learn about reefkeeping. Dont be sorry that you voiced your
opinions, we look for that, just be aware of how you voice them, thats all
we ask. Many of us have learned many things on this list, and will continue
to do so.

The problems with your emails are not that you are debating what you feel is
the best way to keep a reef tank, it is how you do it. Instead of discussing
and debating the positives and negatives of your "reef style", you insist on
making degrading, humiliating comments. Not just once, but in practically
every email you send. It gives people and immediate feeling that you are a
pompous, arrogant ass that insists on making people feel stupid in front of
everyone else, and that in some way, that makes you feel good, or makes
people see your point better. I can assure you, it does not. If you dont
believe me, here are some of your comments:

Perhaps
you could write an article on why we should pack our tanks with live rock,
hook up a large UV, vaccum our crushed coral every week? You seem to be
quite the expert at keeping sps........

Hmm, sorry for dissing the self proclaimed expert of this list... It
seems you all are closed to newer options in reef keeping.

 Anyway, my
favorite movie, office space is on so I will go watch it and will not upset
the age old traditions of this list and the Sprung, Delbeek, Thiel way of
reefkeeping.

beleive it or not there are things in your reef that you do not know about.

 I wonder
if you even feed your corals......

oh craig, you know not of what you speak

Man, and your a biology major too, guess you werent the
brightest in your class.

I wouldnt brag about a few toadstools and a moonstone

Well, you further prove your lack of knowledge.

 Anyways, go do some research,

If you really think you are
improving upon natures multimillion year old filtration with your 7 years
experience then you are a typical human being.

As for my comments on your intelligence, I assumed
that most everyone who took science in 3rd grade knew about the water cycle,
and you have already "stooped" to this level by laughing, not that I give a
$hit. It is interesting how stalwartly you defend your UV, no doubt because
you got ripped off and wont admit it to yourself.

PS, I suggest you email Dr. Ronald Shimek, tell HIM how great your UV is....

What the hell are you talking about?

I'm glad for you, you can now kill benificial micro organisms and bacteria
more effectively! That way you can grow even more of that beautiful scarlet
algae! Man I wish I had a UV.......

These are the types of comments that are totally unnecessary and
unacceptable to others on this list, and are direct quotes from your emails.
I hope that you stay on the list, but please quit sending these types of
comments. Maybe focus on effective communication skills instead of
personally slamming those who dont agree with your takes. A suggestion might
be to read your emails before you send them out and remove any slanderous
remarks before you hit the send button.

Shane C.

Now, like the rest of the list has said, on to reefkeeping, DSB or not!
