Mentor them through this -- you should recommend what you consider
best options; the "meeting" comment is a good start. They will need to
manage this going forward and need your help to get started.

For pro bono -- any volunteer work -- focus on doing even more than
you would for a paying client. Don't just blow their socks off, make
them roll up and down.

It's all about the experience and the references... an awesome
recommendation from any client, pro bono or otherwise, is worth more
in long-term benefit than almost any monetary compensation.
