We actually did talk to ATC about this project. I think basically they found a 
service that was built to handle association type membership management/CRM and 
website as a package deal with lots of "features" out of the box. I think it 
seemed like the path of least resistance rather than trying to piece together a 
custom solution or have a stand-alone system that they had to manage. I'm sure 
they also balanced the cost of going with a pre-built package deal versus 
getting something built specifically for them.

Frankly, after the whole CoA website debacle, I'm not surprised. But, besides 
Googling "austin web development" (which yields 7,090,000 results), where does 
a local business or institution go to find a local web development company? 
Seems there might be a need for a local web dev/web design listing site.
