Jim, I don't recall a request for adoption of an EPP extension draft that didn't include an XML schema and corresponding example XML, when an XML schema was needed. Your reference to RFC9873 not including an XML schema in draft-ietf-regext-epp-eai-00 was due to it not needing an XML schema, since it defined a new Functional Extension type. Eventually the use of a new Functional Extension was removed, and an XML schema became a requirement along with the corresponding example XML. I believe for an EPP extension draft to be considered for working group adoption, it needs to include the XML schema and a candidate set of XML examples if an XML schema is needed. Do you believe that draft-galvin-regext-epp-variants requires an XML schema and the corresponding XML. Why not add it to the draft ahead of requesting working group adoption?
