Hi there,
I've just readed latest discussions about translucent windows and
dicided to post
my opinions about this topic as programmer and as user.

As user I want to see alpha channel implementation for windows as soon
as possible. This feature will bring new dimension to my deskdop. One no
need to
be genius to understand it. Look arround! People wait translucenting in
Xfree!
So many "translucent" terminals arround the Web appeared last year. All
of them
try to emulate translucenting in any way and users uses it. Users even
will not care
about perfomance hits if this feature will work on their PCs.

The logicaly conclusion from this point of view:
Translucenting is needed and needed NOW.

As programmer I do not see any problems with realisation of alpha
channel for a windows.
We need only one routine which will add 'alpha mask' to window (like
shape mask but
it not change shape even if alpha = 0). To avoid stupid limits let's
allocate 32bit int for value
of alpha channel of one pixel. Though first realisation of alpha
channels will slow we can totaly
change it inside without pain for developer of applications. Thus I do
not see problems to add
this feature even in next release of Xfree.

And other... Why there no 'default implementation of render extensions
in XFree? I mean
implementation of RE which will work under any grafics card. Is it so
hard to write
it?! I do not see problems to do this. Or probably do you need help?

Best regards,
    Maxim.
