*Location: NY* *Duration: 6+ months* * * *Job Purpose* * * A developer is required to work in the NY based Commodities Technology. The role will be focused on providing day to day solutions based on existing trading systems for Oil, Gas, and precious metal trading. Role requires working with Middle and Back office users as well as trading desk. This role would be ideal for someone who wants to be a key part of a high profile team, and wants to expand their business knowledge across commodities businesses. * * *Responsibilities* · Develop trading solutions in conjunction with the front office. · Support the commodities trading business out of London and New York. · Gather requirements from business users. * * *Technical Skills*** * * *Essential**:* - 2+ years of PERL - 2 years+ SQL, including stored procedures in Sybase / Oracle. - Good working knowledge of scripting languages such as UNIX shell scripts, or VBScript. - Good working knowledge of XML and associated technologies. - Some understanding of Capital Markets *Preferred:* - 2+ years Java. - Knowledge of Murex MXG2000/OpenLink/TriplePoint - Experience with Job Schedulers like GAS or Autosys - 1+ years visual basic · Knowledge of Oracle PL/SQL - Excel development experience - Commodities business knowledge, particularly of oil and gas trading. - Good financial derivatives knowledge. Understanding of trade data, derivative structures and concepts such as P&L, credit risk, greeks and pricing. * * *Skills and experience* · Degree in a numerical discipline / engineering / economics / finance. · Self-starter with strong motivation and ability to work alone or in a team. · Good communicator. Analytical skills and a highly professional attitude are essential, as the role will entail working directly with front office and middle office staff. · Takes collective responsibility for team goals and delivery rather than focusing purely on individual achievement. · Results-focused approach. Efforts should be focused on delivery of business critical functionality. · Willingness to occasionally travel to the Londonoffice when necessary as part of the role.
