Adi,
For years we have made our own RF signal samplers from UHF tee's. The
male pin usually will unscrew. Then the double ended female section should
come out easily. Saw off one end of this double female section just past its
threaded hole. Re-assemble the tee. Mark the female end of the tee with no
contact with a indelible marker. This is your sampling end.
You should get 20 to 30 db of isolation with this device. Great for
safely injecting a signal into the antenna port of a duplexer to check for
desense. Good place to hook up a freq counter. Cheep enough to leave in line
permanently. The air gap between the remaining center conductor and the
center pin of the sample coax connector creates a very small capacitor that
couples just enough energy to be useful. It's also probably somewhat
frequency dependant but that has never been an issue.
To make any really meaningful receiving measurements you might want to
use another tee on the sample port with a 50 ohm termination.
Have never tried this with an N connector but it would probably work OK
as well.
