Well, if nothing else, that page shows that even back then, people used FM and PM interchangeably. In the beginning of the article, it touts their "frequency modulated (FM) system", but later it states "success of the system was due to choosing phase modulation".
Bob (S-Com Bob), would it be a fair statement to say that traditionally, transmitters have generally been PM (either true PM or emphasized FM), but receivers have been FM all along?
