Jordan, You bet, they work great! I had one running on battery power the whole time at Dayton on 444.85/449.85. Make sure yours is the low split, 450-460 version. If it's the high split it will not go to 440 without mods which can be done but time consuming.
Look on the Repeater Builder website for the instructions on how to convert one. I had a 484MHz 6060 running full duplex as a 461.3125 MHz mobile repeater for years tied to my Johnson trunk radio, had touch tone control and all on it. The 460 MHz version (low split) will got to 420, I ordered crystals and tried it just to see, they worked great. I used to work in a Johnson two-way shop here in Fort Worthless, Texas, I bought 5 of them, new in the box. I still have them, new in the box! I am about to start setting them up as repeaters. The one I had at Dayton was the low power version, it just did not have enough power to make it to the far end of the building so next year I will have a 25 watt version. Who knows, it may have a remote to 900 MHz or something like that if I can find enough battery!!! Good luck!!!
