John, That would be me, I have enough crystals on 420 to make two full duplex links out of the PPL 6060s. I tried them a long time ago when I was needing some links and they tuned up fine, the front end tuning screws were almost to the end of their travel but they had great sensitivity. Hope this helps. Both of my repeaters here in Azle are both Johnson's, 147.16 is a 530 and 444.975 is a 559 both have been on the air for more than 6 years. The 147.16 repeater does have a small TE Systems Commercial paging PA behind it, not too big, not too small. Going to put one on the 444 machine shortly just to get a little more power.
