Phelps-Dodge duplexer

You must know that Phelps-Dodge has been gone for some
decades now.

Common sense would say your six cavity unit was made for
wideband commercial repeater splits (about 5 meg).

Your picture didn't come through to the yahoo group.

The capacitor/box assembly is probably a method to
add reactance to the probe/loop. You can see what it
really does on a tracking spectrum analyzer.

Harness lenghts are common values, depending on your
probe/loop interface.

You might review some of the seits web site information
to get a better handle on things. Depending on the
Cavity Q and probes, you might be able to use it for
some Amateur applications.

> A friend has acquired a phelps-dodge 6 cavity duplexer catalog
number 499-509, serial number 1374. It is configured in a circle and
each can has a box with a tuning capacitor mounted on top of it. It
says it covers 136 to 174 MHz. It has no connecting cables and no
instructions on cable length or tuning. Could someone help with this
information. I have searched the net to find any information on this
duplexer with no results. I have attached a picture............thanks
