Several years ago there was a thread on this group about that particular type of duplexer.  As I remember, here wasn't much info then.  That duplexer is an oldie, but if you think of it in "duplexer/cavity/cable length" terms of a later model duplexer, you might be able to cut and try your way to make it work.

    A friend has acquired a phelps-dodge 6 cavity duplexer catalog number 499-509, serial number 1374.  It is configured in a circle and each can has a box with a tuning capacitor mounted on top of it.  It says it covers 136 to 174 MHz.  It has no connecting cables and no instructions on cable length or tuning.  Could someone help with this information. I have searched the net to find any information on this duplexer with no results.  I have attached a picture............thanks
