Thanks thats good news. However in reading all the conversions and doing so, I run into a small problem. I replaced the xtal in 5c icom which was stamped 162.600. the instructions in the alignment state to net the Icom  using a freq counter. The freq I am using is 147.975 - 11.2 = 136.78. This number I am NOT able to get at the test point I am to use. I check the Icom with the other crystal installed and get the number they stated I would expect ot see.
My question is, is there a way to make a high freq Icom (162.) work on the (147.), or do I have to t ry and locate a different Icom?

Yes.  There are some performance optimizing tweaks.  However, the 66-split model will work without conversion.  You may wish to join the GE-MastrII group to gather more information.  See the links below.

I am trying to make a mastrII into a repeater. The model number I have shows it to be a high split. Can this unit be reworked for the 2 meter band. (MC56AAS66A)

Thanks
