Funny how spoiled we are over modern radio 
equipment.  ".5uV is a bit deaf" just makes 
me smile. 

That's not a bad number really, especially 
since the Master Pro Receiver has such a 
good front end.  

Better to have the .5uV and a well protected 
front end, vs a "modestly protected" GasFet 
preamp ahead of it. 

GaAs (Gas-Fets) make great mixers. One must 
be carefull not to cause more receiver mix 
problems with a nice GaAs Fet mixer, which 
started life as a preamp.
