I would have to say if you have a amp at say 50
watts and you use a very high gain antenna and have very good coax with very
minimal losses you should be able to perform just as well as a amp or XMTR at
higher power running a cable with say minimal losses and a antenna that does not
perform as well as a antenna with much better gain or even yet crappy
coax. overall the antenna system will perform is what kind of system
is designed, and Height Above Agerage Terrain ( HAAT ) will show how well
the system operates.
