We do that for a lot of my heating customers, its called a Winter Watchman. It can also be used to trigger an ADT alarm or an autodialer.Been using the diode in series with incandecent lamps for years, triples the life.I have since changed all my lamps to energy saving flourescent screw ins and removed the diodes. Now to figure out how to put these GE power supplies on a diet, anyone have the schematic for the power saving option? I think it triggers from the PTT line? Also thought about a timer to shut off the AC at night and exercise the batteries, using a PTT override of some kind. Electric bill is out of hand! 73,Lee,N3APP in chilly Erie,Pa
