Green & orange leads were used up to the Micor & Mocom 70 line. They were optional for the Mitrek.
I still have a car (1978 Camaro) with a lash up for a T-power. It ran my 50 watt T-Power on 29.6 Mhz very well until I upgraded to a Micor. About 12 years ago I resurrected a twin-vee on 150 MHz to put in a 1949 jeep with a 6 volt electrical system, for a local ham in the area. I was unable to find any of the original 6 volt control cables, so I had to modify a 12 volt control cable to 6 volt operation. First I tuned it up on my old 12 volt lash up & got about 25 watts out of the twin-vee. Then I re-tuned with the 6 volt lash up & got about 15 watts out & could feel the power leads slightly warm. I was then going to use more heavy duty power leads for the lash when the jeep blew the engine & the guy sold it. To bad, the jeep was (other than the engine) fully restored with a new paint job & looked great! ------ Original Message ------ Received: Fri, 04 Mar 2005 01:25:44 PM CST From: "skipp025" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Subject: [Repeater-Builder] Progs and Twin-V's > > > An old timer (still working two-way radio) > was just telling me stories about replacing > parts into the motorola Research Line and > Twin-V equipment (motorhead equivalent of the > prog) for 25KHz "narrow band" operation. > > Beside the weight, you had to keep the motor > running or turn the radio off unless you had > jumper cables around. > > Anyone remember green and orange leads? > > cheers, > skipp > > > [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: > > Hi John, > > You hit it right on the head! > > How many prog-lines and twin-V's > > are still certified?
