Gary,

Is your UHF Station one of the rare "FM" models or does it use a (more common) phase modulated exciter?  The easy way to tell is from the size of the transmit ICOM.  If it is about 1/3 larger than the receiver ICOM, then it is a FM unit, if it is the same size as the receiver ICOM, then it is a phase modulated exciter.

The ones on the extreme sides of the upper picture are the FM ICOM (also known as the PLL ICOM)

If it is a PM unit, here is some generic instructions on "FM'ing" the PM Mastr II.  This information will work on any VHF or UHF PM MASTR II exciter:
