I have used old Polyphasor surge suppressors for RF tight boxes, look at:
http://www.polyphaser.com/kommerce_productdetail.aspx?item=IS-PT50HN
These are 4.25" long, 2.25" wide and 1.25" deep outside dimensions. They
are cast aluminum, so the inside dimensions will be less. I can't find the
Hamtronics preamp I have, but I think it will fit inside. The case has 2 N
female connectors, one on each end. I have a few of these around, you can
have one for the postage.
