What's your replacement and disposal costs?

Car batteries and marine deep cycle batteries aren't that different in 
price, and the deep cycle batteries are MUCH better at tolerating deep 
discharges. 

I don't know the number offhand, and I'm sure it varies a bit, but some 
small number of discharges to 10V will kill a car battery.
There is progressive damage with this, so after the first deep 
discharge the battery has less capacity, and it gets worse with every 
discharge.
