The company I worked for installed solar systems for radio telemetry on
water systems . The main trouble we had was keeping the batteries dry
Make sure you keep batteries in a Dry Well ventilated place by themselves
away from other Electronic equipment . Batteries kept in Metal boxes tend to
sweat and condense moisture in damp & cold weather. Do not place Solar
controller In same box . I know what will happen . We had one Contractor
install one within battery box I wasn't a happy camper when I found out what
he had done because I had To correct his job at no cost to customer.
WE used two Panels & two 6 volt deep cycle Batteries to power Simplex
repeater ( 5 Watt ) this repeater sent a 2 second message every 15 seconds
